CytoSMART Cloud

Live-cell imaging generates vast amounts data, but processing, analyzing, and storing large datasets can be challenging. The adoption of cloud-based solutions offers significant advantages in the field of digital microscopy, allowing users to save time, resources, and effort. Cloud computing can accelerate scientific research by enabling efficient and reliable data handling, processing, and analysis.

CytoSMART Cloud benefits
What is CytoSMART Cloud?

CytoSMART Cloud is a highly secure data management platform that allows users to store, process, and share large amounts of microscopy data. All CytoSMART platforms are connected to the Microsoft Azure cloud environment that provides modern methods of data analysis and secure hosting of large datasets. Microsoft Azure is a cloud computing service created for building, testing, deploying, and managing applications and services through Microsoft-managed data centers.

To safeguard customer data, our protocol is based on three pillars:

  • >> Data security

  • >> Privacy

  • >> Compliance with international regulations

Security of cloud-based solutions

CytoSMART protocol for data security is based on a multi-layered strategy. To start, data uploads and downloads both go through Secure Socket Layer (SSL), a technology that prevents unauthorized parties from intercepting or modifying the transferred information. Transmitted data is encrypted and can only be read in the cloud, where the decoding key is stored.

In addition, CytoSMART utilizes triple-redundant storage, which prevents any loss of data in the event of a server failure or other disruption. The stored data cannot be modified and the original data is always stored on a separate server.

Benefits of a cloud-based solution
  • >> Security - Given the sensitive nature of data that our customers handle, it is essential to ensure complete data protection. Cloud computing not only guarantees the security of your data but also provides automatic back-up functionality to prevent data loss.

  • >> Speed - Efficient extraction of complex biological data. In the cloud, computing speed is increased, which results in much more efficient data processing.

  • >> Storage - Live-cell imaging platforms generate large amounts of data. Cloud computing provides a secure and accessible location for storage, processing and analysis of data, without the need to set up an internal server or store all data on a desktop.
