The authors of this study aimed to show the formation of vasculogenic mimicry (VM) formation of HT1080, a human fibrosarcoma cell line. This formation is suggested to be a target for cancer therapy. The CytoSMART Lux2 was used to observe the spontaneous VM formation of HT1080 every hour. It was demonstrated that HT1080 cells spontaneously formed blood vessel-like structures over a time span of a few hours.
