This study focused on developing a 3D pancreatic model that enables research for a possible relation between diabetes mellitus and pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC). The CytoSMART Lux2 was used during this research for visualization of cell-to-cell interactions real-time. The time-lapse images showed that PDAC cells were in close contact with MIN6 spheroids, and sometimes even pentrated in the so-called pseudo islets. Alltogether, this study succeeded in developing a simple and flexible 3D pancreatic model for in vitro experiments.
