In this study, the authors used the CytoSMART Lux2 to investigate the effect of ciprofloxacin-derivative chalcone on breast cancer cell line viability. Chalcone reduced proliferation and initiated apoptosis of both MCF-7 and MDA-MB-231 cells. Therefore, chalcone displayed promising apoptotic and anti-metastatic activities against breast cancer cells, making it an interesting potential drug for breast cancer treatment.
